Can’t Find Good Tap Dance Music? Chill Out!

Posted on August 5th, 2008 in Blues,Latin Music by Terrence Taps

I came across this tune while listening to one of my new favorite Internet Radio websites! It’s called & allows you to listen to music based on your mood! Anyway, I will definitely be laying some choreography on this wonderful collaboration between Santana and John lee Hooker over the coming school year.

It’s called “Chill Out”.

The rough edge of John Lee Hooker’s voice against the gentle smoothness of Santana’s playing is mesmerizing!

Tap Dance Music to Make You Come Alive

Posted on July 3rd, 2008 in Blues,Jazz by Terrence Taps

This song is great for tap dancers because of its groove and it’s lyrics. I would love to see choreography set to this one. In fact, if you set a piece to this, share what you did with it in the comments section below.

It’s entitled “I Come Alive” & is included on Incognito’s most recent release.

“Time” For More Tap Dance Music!

Posted on June 17th, 2008 in Blues by Terrence Taps

Like many dancers, I listen to music from many genres. What I listen to depends on what mood I’m in. In this case I was enjoying some upbeat New Orleans style Blues when I came across “Carnival Time” by “Bo Dollis and The Wild Magnolias”!

They also have another enthusiastic piece for tap dancers called “Party” but I couldn’t find a recording of it on Amazon or iTunes that I liked. If you find that one, please feel free to link to it comments.

If you know of other great music in a similar style, please reference it in the comments section below!
